Any moment from now , former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar will announce his candidature for the exalted office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a close associate has revealed.
Atiku, who had twice made a bid to be president, first in 2007 and in 2011, is said to be on extensive consultation with stakeholders at home and abroad, in preparations for his declaration which he would do before the All Progressives Congress presidential primaries slated for November.
Naijalog’s source noted that Atiku would, immediately after public declaration, begin his campaign by spreading messages of peaceful co-existence, true nationalism and an end to religious fanaticism and extremism round the country.
Efforts to get an official confirmation Atiku Abubakar or the head of his media office , Mallam Garba Shehu, was futile as of the time of filing this report.
But the close associate of the former vice president, however said that all the necessary arrangements had been put in place to make the public declaration a success.
