Fears of reprisal attack hangs in the air in Kaduna following the murder of two Christian women worshippers inside a church by unknown gunmen.
According to The Interim Caretaker Chairman of Zangon Kattaf LG, Dominic Yahaya, “ the attack began at 11:45 pm when people mostly women and children were attacked inside a church while holding night vigil prayers.”
“ Thirteen people were shot and two women died, while 11 others have been admitted at Saint Louis hospital, Zomkwa, the attackers escaped into the bush” he added.
The situation in the area has set the youth in the commune on rampage, the youths were seen burning tyres and barricading roads
A representative of the youths said “the soldiers posted to provide security have become a nuisance and we strongly suspect that they are responsible for the attack just to create tension in the state and continue to justify their stay in the area.”
