Police are investigating an incident in which a 10-year old boy committed suicide in Savannah estate, Nairobi.
The boy is said to have argued with his mother over money, police said.
The mother had given the money to the boy to go and buy sugar but instead bought himself movie CDs.
“When the mother asked where he had taken the money he did not explain prompting a shouting from her,” police said.
Police say the boy went to his bedroom, took a rope and hanged himself for “fear he would be beaten up”.
His body was moved to the city mortuary.
