Nigeria and Spain have perfected a bilateral collaboration to exchange movies produced by both countries.
This was disclosed Tuesday by Spain’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Alvaro Alguela, .
He noted that though Nollywood is the 3rd largest film industry in the world, its creative works are relatively unknown in Europe.
But, with this bilateral relation in place, more films from Nigeria will be used to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria and indeed the rest of Africa to Europe, he opined.
In his remarks, Alguela also revealed that the Spanish Embassy in Nigeria annually organizes film festivals to promote upcoming Nigerian artistes.
The Ambassador also made it known that the Spanish government is prepared to work with upcoming artiste from Nigeria.
He expressed optimism that the collaboration between Spain and Nigeria in the area of film exchange would lead to other areas of bilateral co-operation
