Former Boko Haram hostages say many persons lost their lives moment before Nigerian troop liberated from the captivity of the militant group last week.
The group of women and girls who have now been transported to a camp in Yola said , that ‘Boko Haram fighters started stoning them when they refused to run away as the army came nearer.’
The number of dead couldn’t be ascertained.
“They didn’t allow us to move an inch,” one of the freed women, Asabe Umaru, told Reuters news agency. “We were kept in one place. We were under bondage,” she added.
Many of the survivors recounted stories of how they were captured by the militants who killed men and older boys in front of their families before taking women and children into the forest and forcing them into marriage.
