Nigeria’s Minister Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, was on Thursday elected the first female president of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), at the organization’s ongoing 166th General Meeting, holding in Vienna, Austria.
Mrs Madueke will replace Libyan Vice Prime Minister for Corporations, Abdourhman Atahar Al-Ahirish, as the new President.
The meeting is expected to take key decisions that could halt the dwindling price of crude oil.
