The Zamfara State Government, through the Zakkat and Endowment Board, has concluded arrangements to sponsor the weddings of 200 orphans across the state.

Speaking to journalists in Gusau, the Board’s Executive Secretary, Malam Habibu Balarabe, revealed that the mass wedding ceremony is scheduled for Monday, November 23, 2025, and will be held at the Board’s headquarters.

He confirmed that every participant selected for the programme has been screened and approved.

Support for Women and Small Businesses
In addition to the wedding sponsorship, Balarabe announced that 200 women involved in small-scale businesses will receive financial support to boost their ventures.

He added that 100 women who recently completed a three-week training in poultry farming will also be provided with starter kits to help them begin commercial production.

The programme includes plans to settle selected debts recorded in various Shari’ah Courts and correctional centres in the state.

Furthermore, orphans who successfully finished computer training will be presented with basic equipment to help them begin their digital careers.
