Portable, a Nigerian singer, rapper, and songwriter whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, has recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, for the economic hardship experienced in the country. He raised his show fee from 2.5 million naira to 3.5 million naira and voiced out his discontentment in a viral video.
In the video, Portable was heard lamenting about the high cost of living in Nigeria and how everything has become too expensive. He questioned why human beings should not also be high, given the high fuel price caused by the president.
The singer also revealed that the president’s decision to increase fuel prices has made many people act like they’re high. Due to the increase in the prices of basic commodities such as fuel and Garri, Portable had to increase his show fee by a million naira, bringing it up to 3.5 million naira from the initial 2.5 million naira he charged the previous year.
He made it clear that he had to take such a decision due to the economic reality of the country.
