Nigerian gospel musician Yinka Ayefele was visibly emotional during a condolence visit to the family of late singer Taiwo Adegbodu.
A video making the rounds online showed the touching moment Ayefele broke down in tears at the residence of the Adegbodu Twins. Seated in his wheelchair and surrounded by sympathisers, the music star appeared deeply shaken as he openly wept.
Despite efforts by those present to console him, the grief on his face reflected the magnitude of the loss.
Taiwo Adegbodu, one-half of the popular Adegbodu Twins, reportedly died in the early hours of Saturday, February 28. News of his sudden passing quickly spread across social media, leaving fans and fellow musicians stunned.
His death marks yet another painful moment for Nigeria’s gospel music industry in 2026. Earlier in January, gospel singer and evangelist Bunmi Akinaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi, also passed away after a prolonged illness. According to reports, she had been battling health challenges since 2025 but sadly did not recover.
Taiwo’s passing adds to the growing list of losses that have deeply affected the gospel community this year.
