Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, who was scheduled to be arraigned at the FCT High Court on Wednesday, took charge of crowd control after Justice Maryann Anenih stormed out in anger.
Justice Anenih, who was set to hear the pleas of Bello and two other defendants, abruptly stood up and declared she would not return until the courtroom was in order.
After the judge left, Bello, who had been seated at the front of the courtroom, stood up and approached the crowd. He immediately instructed his supporters and followers to vacate their seats and leave the courtroom.
His actions helped to calm the situation, as his followers left the room quietly without resistance.
To maintain order, the former governor positioned himself at the courtroom entrance to ensure that none of his supporters defied the court’s order. All of his aides and supporters followed his instructions and exited the court one by one.
In the meantime, Kemi Pinheiro SAN is leading the federal government’s legal team for the arraignment, while Joseph Bodunde Dauda SAN represents the former governor in the case, which involves 16 charges.
