Tolanibaj, a former Big Brother Naija reality star, has distanced herself from the feminist ideology, asserting that women should not engage in competition with men. In an episode of her podcast, the reality personality and disc jockey expressed her disagreement with feminist principles, stating that she believes women’s roles are meant to enhance and complement men rather than compete with them. Tolanibaj clarified that she does not subscribe to the notion of equality between men and women and, consequently, does not identify as a feminist.

In her words,

“I feel like women are not supposed to compete with men; they are just supposed to complement them. That’s why I can’t say I am a feminist because I don’t see how if a man is doing gra gra, as a woman, I should be doing gra gra too”, she said.
