A 27-year-old Gutu woman has been convicted of domestic violence by a magistrate’s court after she struck her husband with an axe on the forehead and soiled his whole body with human waste following a domestic dispute.
Linda Kugwiravamwe of Gonville suburb at Mpandawana Growth Point also caused a stir at Gutu Police Station where she charged at her husband while he was making a report and tore a criminal record book before chewing some of the pages.
Kugwiravamwe was on Wednesday convicted of domestic violence by Gutu resident magistrate Mr Nyasha Vitorini after admitting to bashing her husband Alex Mudzingwa (37).
Mr Vitorini remanded Kugwiravamwe out of custody to Monday for sentencing.
On December 29 last year, Kugwiravamwe had a heated domestic dispute with her husband Mudzingwa at their home in Mpandawana.
During the dispute Mudzingwa threatened to burn all the couple’s clothes and this incensed his wife.
In a fit of rage, Kugwiravamwe then armed herself with an axe and struck her husband once on the forehead, inflicting a deep cut on him.
Kugwiravamwe, still in a fit of rage, proceeded to defecate in their house and smeared her husband with the human waste.
Mudzingwa later made a report to police at Mpandawana where Kugwiravamwe caused a scene after her arrest by tearing a criminal record book before chewing some of the pages in protest over her husband’s move to make a police report.
Ms Agatha Gabriel appeared for the State.
