A Harare woman has told a court that her husband wets and poos in the blankets each time he comes home drunk.
She said he also insulted and beat her up in front of the children. Eunice Nyamaropa approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her husband, Peter.
“I have three children with this man but the problem I have is that he comes home around 3 in the morning, drunk. He urinates and worse, of all, defecates in the blankets. I ask him if he has forgotten where the toilet is and he says there is nothing surprising about defecating in the blankets. I am tired of cleaning up the mess of this man.”
Added to this she said her husband’s small house calls and insults her all the time. Her husband, Peter said he came back home late because of his job which regularly took him out of town. He admitted that he urinated in the blankets.
“On the faeces in the blankets, I told my wife that it happens when I have stomach problems. She is lying when she says I beat her up. We fight like any normal couple. As you can see she is bigger than me and she always wins but this time I won, that is why she came to court.”
Peter denied that he has a small house. Magistrate Miriam Banda ruled in favour of Eunice and granted the peace order she was seeking.
