Afrobeats sensation Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has enrolled his son, Zion, in the Nigel James Elite Coaching Academy, owned by Nigel James, the father of Chelsea captain Reece James.
Zion’s mother and Wizkid’s manager, Jada Pollock, shared a video on Friday, March 15, showing the young boy receiving his academy jersey and interacting with an official. The footage quickly gained traction online, confirming earlier speculation about his enrollment in a football academy.
In the clip, Zion is initially seen wearing a Real Madrid jersey before being handed his new academy kit.
His admission into the academy follows a viral photo from weeks earlier, which showed him and Jada P at a football training facility, fueling discussions about his potential football career.
Nigel James, who oversees the academy, is a highly regarded coach known for developing top football talents, including his children, Reece and Lauren James, both of whom play professionally for Chelsea.
Another widely circulated image captures Zion attentively listening to his coach while sporting a Cristiano Ronaldo No. 7 Al-Nassr jersey and striking a pose reminiscent of a professional player.
Fans have since taken to social media to celebrate Zion’s football aspirations, commending Wizkid and Jada P for encouraging his passion.
