Nigerian music icon Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has emotionally reflected on the profound meaning behind the birth of his daughter, who he says bears an uncanny resemblance to his late mother.
During his sold-out performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, the Grammy Award-winning artist paused mid-show to connect with his audience on a deeply personal level.
Wizkid spoke candidly about the pain of losing his mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, in August 2023, and the healing that came after.
On stage, he shared: “God gave me a daughter who looks exactly like my mom to come fill my heart with a whole lot of love.”
