His bold statement comes amid heated discussions surrounding Nigeria’s “Top 3” musicians a title often used to describe Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy as the nation’s leading global music figures.
Breaking his silence on the debate, Wizkid took to his Instagram story to assert his dominance in the industry, writing on a whiteboard: “Type sht. Big Wiz. Number 1.”
The post immediately sparked fan reactions and reignited arguments over who truly sits at the top of Nigeria’s music scene.
Wizkid’s declaration follows recent comments by fellow singer Tiwa Savage, who questioned the exclusion of Tems from the “Afrobeats Big 3” conversation. According to Tiwa, the conversation is incomplete without acknowledging Tems’ global impact. She stated, “I feel like it’s unfair to have conversation about the Top 3 and not mention Tems.”
