Nigerian Afrobeats icon Wizkid has revealed a tender side of himself while celebrating his son, Boluwatife Balogun, widely known as Champz. The proud dad expressed his affection, saying, “We love it man, he’s my kid you know!”

Following in his father’s legendary footsteps, Champz has burst onto the scene with his debut project, Champion’s Arrival, already earning widespread attention.

14-year-old Champz makes history with record-breaking debut EP

Released earlier this week, the five-track EP soared to the top of Apple Music Nigeria within just five hours making Boluwatife the youngest African artist to ever achieve such success. It’s also charting in 16 countries and currently sits at No. 71 on UK Apple Music Top Albums.

Despite being only 14, Champz has wowed fans with his charisma, originality, and lyrical depth.

In Superstar, he reflects on early heartbreaks and promises to show love to his future kids, while confidently stating that his words are all his own despite critics labeling him a “nepo baby.”

In Grind, he drops a cheeky line at detractors, rapping that they will “regret that my father didn’t wear latex,” humorously acknowledging his superstar lineage.

Champz’s mother, Sola Ogudugu, has been his steady support system, guiding him through life and music. She proudly took to social media to thank fans for streaming her son’s EP and to celebrate his remarkable milestone.

Over time, she’s been praised for raising Boluwatife with humility and maturity, even as Wizkid’s global career often keeps him on the move.

Fans across social media have celebrated the young artist’s impressive debut, admiring his confidence and authenticity. With a father’s pride and a mother’s guidance, Boluwatife “Champz” Balogun is clearly carving out his own legacy in the music world.

Social media reactions:
@Tunde: “So Wizkid finally get who go feature am for family remix. #ChampionsArrival”

@willimeshko: “Big Wiz don turn soft guy o! From ‘Ojuelegba’ to ‘Proud Papa’ vibes – growth sweet die! Man dey raise champ and still drop bangers, na double blessing be that.”
