A defendant attacked a Nevada judge in court as he was about to be sentenced in a felony battery case. Clark County District Judge Mary Kay Holthus was pushed back against a wall but didn’t require hospitalization. A courtroom marshal who assisted the judge was hospitalized for a forehead gash and dislocated shoulder. The incident occurred at 11 a.m. at the Las Vegas Regional Justice Centre. The defendant, Deobra Delone Redden, 30, was subdued by court and jail officers, facing new felony charges including battery on a protected person. He had been prosecuted by Richard Scow on charges related to an assault with a baseball bat.
