The reasoning behind suggesting that Prof. Wole Soyinka be honored with a road in the Federal Capital Territory has been clarified by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the FCT.
It was reported on Tuesday that President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the Full Scope Development of the Arterial Road N20, which stretches from Northern Parkway to the Outer Northern Expressway.

The decision was influenced by the desire to honor individuals who have significantly contributed to the country’s development during their lifetime.
In 2020, Wike disclosed that the construction contract for Wole Soyinka Way was awarded at a cost of N30.6 billion. He also mentioned that the residents of the Federal Capital Territory have benefited from the completion of the road project.
