Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United as he prepares to replace ousted manager of the Old Trafford Louis Van Gaal.
British media reports say that the ex-Real Madrid manager agreed a three-year contract to become Old Trafford boss on Tuesday.
However, Sky Sports reports that Mourinho is yet to be officially announced United manager because negotiations over image rights are still ongoing and must be resolved before the contract can be signed.
But The Sun UK reports that “it is unclear whether these issues will be decided in time for Mourinho, 53, to put pen to paper on Wednesday.” It is however expected that everything will be wrapped up today and Mourinho would be announced as the club’s new manager before the end of the week
The tabloid also reports that contrary to earlier reports, Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is not in London to hold face-to-face talks with United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, meaning an official deal may be stalled.
United and Mourinho both have their own commercial partnerships and neither one wishes to jeopardise their existing commitments.
