The Coachella performance brought back memories of the song’s worldwide success, as fans sang along passionately when Wizkid and Tems joined Bieber on stage.

Originally released in 2020, Essence became a global hit, helping to push Afrobeats further into the international spotlight. Its remix featuring Justin Bieber boosted its success even more, earning a top 10 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 and peaking at number nine.
