Anthony Joshua has hinted at the reasons behind his fifth-round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois on Saturday, resulting in Dubois retaining his IBF heavyweight title.
Dubois delivered an impressive performance in front of a crowd of 96,000 at Wembley Stadium, London. The 27-year-old knocked Joshua down four times before sealing the victory with a powerful right to the chin in the fifth round.
During the post-match press conference, Joshua suggested that his defeat was due to a few mistakes he made during the fight.
“Even though when I sign up to fight opponents I don’t really like them in my head any more, but now it is done, I take my hat off to him and say well done to him and his team.
“And also thank you to my team as well for the way they prepared me, there were a few mistakes in there but that is the name of the game, fine margins will cost you at the top level,” Joshua said.
