The MBGN pageant holds this evening at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. As usual, the atmosphere is charged as the 32 contestants are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to outshine one another and clinch the coveted crown.

Only last week, two contestants left the MBGN camp in Yenagoa – Miss Ebonyi made the move for personal reasons while Miss Gombe was asked to leave the camp for failing to meet with the stipulated requirements by the organisers, Silverbird Productions.

Their exit, however, reduced the number of contestants to 32 who would be vying for the prestigious MBGN crown this evening.

Organisers disclosed that the pageant will be aired live on Silverbird Television from 7.30pm.

MBGN is a pageant organised by Silverbird Group and is aimed at sending representatives to international competitions. Originally known as Miss Universe Nigeria, it was renamed Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria after news publishers Daily Times lost its license to send delegates from rival contest Miss Nigeria to Miss World and Miss Universe.

The current MBGN title holder is Business Administration graduate Isabella Ayuk from Cross River, who had also competed in 2010 and 2011,and her platform is Typhoid Awareness and Widow Empowerment.
