The charismatic Anambra-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, has sent a powerful message of solidarity to Afrobeats superstar Davido following his recent snub at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Bigger Than the Trophy
While fans and industry watchers are still reeling from the fact that Davido and other Nigerian nominees returned home empty-handed, Odumeje urged the singer to look beyond the trophy. He argued that Davido’s existing success and global influence are the true indicators of his greatness, insisting that the love of his fans supersedes any industry recognition.
The Message
Dismissing the accolade as irrelevant to the singer’s stardom, the clergyman declared:
“Davido, you’re already a generational award awarded with a lot of award. There’s no award that you will receive now that means anything. You have already awarded any award you need. Your life, your steps are awards. Don’t allow any ordinary iron to quench the fire of your joy. What is Grammy, who knows the Grammy. Who Grammy help? Grammy didn’t make us to know Davido. We know you as a good singer and that is why we love you.”
