According to reports, on Monday, August 21, at least five young men in Rivers State were electrocuted while attempting to erect a billboard with a metal frame in the Obiri-Ikwerre neighbourhood of Rumuosi Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Doctors are fighting for the lives of four more people who were brought to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH).
A group of nine guys were installing the billboard construction, which had a metal frame that made contact with the high-tension cable positioned around the same perimeter. Five of them were shocked to death by the current, while four more are reportedly fighting for their lives.
When a billboard was being erected in Rivers, five people were electrocuted and four more were hurt.
