The National Security Advisor (NSA) has provided information about the July 3 meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the heads of the military services.
Before departing for Europe, the president met with the NSA, Kayode Egbetokun, the acting inspector general of police, and the service heads he nominated, according to The Guardian.
Speaking to reporters from the State House, Ribadu revealed that the meeting with President Tinubu was quite successful.
According to the NSA, they expressed gratitude to the president for selecting them, and Tinubu shared with them his expectations, according to the Daily Trust.
Ribadu said that Tinubu is now seeing the new service heads for the first time after their June 19, 2023, appointment.
The NSA told the president that they would cooperate to achieve their predetermined goal of safeguarding the nation, according to Premium Times.
“He gave us the assurance that he’s with us hundred per cent. He told us that we must work as a team and that there’s work to be done; he’ll expect us to deliver, and we’re grateful for the opportunity. That’s why we are here,”
the NSA said.
On how the new security chiefs will take off to accomplish their mandate, Ribadu said:
“Where we are today, and you can see already things are improving in our country. “If you see the record of crimes and activities of criminals are going down, it will continue to go down. We’ll secure this place.”
