US president Barack Obama has told lawmakers he has the authority he needs to fight the Islamic State.
These remarks comes just hours before the president is expected to address the American People in a prime time address on strategy adopted to vanquish the IS threat which has taking over larger Syria and Iraq and continuously undermines the US, killing two American Journalists.
The President however on tuesday in a statement released by the white house “reiterated his belief that the nation is stronger and our efforts more effective when the President and Congress work together to combat a national security threat like ISIL.
Though Obama said he would welcome actions from Congress that will aid combating the IS,this statement proves he is unlikely to seek authorization from lawmakers to carry out what will be mostly air strikes on the terrorist unit.
