Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has urged the people of the state to vote against President Goodluck Jonathan if he seeks re-election in 2015.
Amaechi gave the charge particularly to the people of Kalabari when he visited Degema Local government area of the state.
He told the gathering of Kalabari people that President Jonathan was a stranger and not their brother, adding that the President should show the world what he has done in Rivers state since his assumption of office.
“The only way you can get back your oil wells is to vote out Mr. President. It is up to you, the Kalabari people, if you don’t vote out Mr. President, you know that you cannot have another Governor like me who can fight for you.
“They will put the last signature and your oil wells will be gone forever.
“Vote him out. He is not our brother. He is from Bayelsa, we are Rivers. He can only serve Bayelsa, he can not serve us.
“Let him tell us what he has done for us,” Amaechi said.
Governor Amaechi also called on the President to avoid inciting the people of Bayelsa state and Kalabari because of the Soku oil wells dispute.
