Citizen TV recently featured a story about poor  teenage girls ashamed of the situation that arises when they get their menstruation periods.

The girls said that they could not go to school for a week or more. And this happens largely because they cannot afford to buy sanitary towels and so they use chicken feathers and hides. And so girls miss school every week for fear of being laughed at incase anything goes wrong.
