A video of a University of Technology (UTech) student being beaten by school security guards in a small room, while a building mob looks on from outside is making the rounds online.
On it you can hear voices in the video asking “Ah wah him a do?” a female voice asks “is a battybwoy dats what him be?” a male spectator says “unno alone cyan have di fun” (referring to the security guards) and another shouts “pussy you a go dead battybwoy”
According to reports two male UTech students were discovered in a “compromising position” (allegedly having sex) in a school bathroom. They were chased by students. One escaped and the other sought refuge with the security guards, who instead of quelling the mob and offering some assistance to the young man, CHOSE to beat him while the students looked on.
Marksman Ltd. has fired the security guards involved in the beating which took place on Thursday night.
In a release Friday Marksman said, “the security officers acted outside the scope of their duties. The actions of the security guards are not in keeping with Marksman Limited’s contractual arrangements and on-going mandate to protect and secure life and property.”
