Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, the recipient of the 2023 Africa Footballer of the Year award, was seen in Lagos attending a New Year Crossover Service as part of the global celebration of the arrival of 2024. A viral video captured Osimhen at a Redeemed Christian Church of God Parish, where excited members were visibly star-struck by his presence. The Super Eagles striker warmly embraced the pastor and even took the microphone to share in the worship experience.
This appearance follows Osimhen’s recent red card in Napoli’s 2-0 loss to Roma in Serie A, where both he and Matteo Politano received red cards. Despite this setback, Osimhen is part of Nigeria’s 25-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, commencing on January 13. Nigeria, placed in Group A with Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau, will rely on Osimhen’s leadership in the attack alongside Victor Boniface.
