Work was temporarily halted at Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc headquarters, Ijora Lagos on Monday as Pepsi Football Ambassador Victor Moses stopped over to say thank you to the management and staff of the company for their support.
As the news spread round that Moses was inside the sprawling premises, staffers left their offices to catch a glimpse of the Pepsi ambassador who brought joy to over 160 million Nigerians by playing a key role in the Super Eagles winning the AFCON 2013 trophy. Moses was also the arrowhead in Pepsi’s theme campaign for AFCON tagged “Our Nation, Our Pride.”
Moses, who was conducted round different offices by the Head of Marketing, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Mr. Norden Thurston visited the Chairman, Mr. Faysal El Khalil, Managing Director, Mr. Sunil Sawhney, Executive Director, Mr. Femi Mokikan, PepsiCo International, among others. Moses, who was calm and all smiles, posed for photographs and shared jokes with staffers.
Mr. El Khalil congratulated Moses for his performance during the Afcon tournament, noting that Pepsi is proud to be associated with him. The Chairman said Pepsi, through the PepsiFootballAcademy, has been discovering and nurturing young Nigerian talents in football for over 20 years, including giving them full scholarships to study and play in top high schools in the United Kingdom.
As the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on the Harambe Stars of Kenya in a World Cup qualifier in Calabar on Saturday, there is a weight of expectation on Moses to repeat his AFCON performance and give Nigeria the victory.
