The on-loan Nigerian striker from Chelsea kicked off to a flying start in his Liverpool career as he scored the second goal for Liverpool, as the reds shared the points with Swansea for the night with a 2-2 draw.

The draw meant that Liverpool toppled Arsenal to move back to the top of the EPL table.

However former Liverpool midfielder, Jonjo Shelvey was the hero and villain for Swansea, as  he got his new club off to flyer on two minutes when he latched onto a rebound and curled a fierce shot beyond Simon Mignolet from eight yards.

But Shelvey’s dream start turned into a nightmare just over 60 seconds later when he gift-wrapped a back pass straight to Sturridge, who made no mistake with a clinical strike into the bottom corner.

And it got even worse for the Swans playmaker on 36 minutes when his attempted cross-field pass landed straight at the feet of Victor Moses. The on-loan Chelsea man seized on the opportunity and raced at goal before lashing in a low shot to mark his debut in style.

Liverpool looked on course to stretch their winning start to four matches but were forced to settle for a point when the Swans grabbed a deserved equaliser just past the hour.
