Renowned Nollywood actress Morenike Alausa, popularly known as Mama Ereko, has shared the reasons behind her decision to remain single after the passing of her husband.
Speaking on Talk2Dunnis TV’s official YouTube channel, Mama Ereko explained that she opted not to remarry to preserve her youthful appearance and avoid unnecessary stress that could make her age faster.
She believes that the pressures of marriage, particularly intimacy, contribute to premature aging in women.
“If I had remarried, people wouldn’t be complimenting my beauty and elegance at this age. The stress of intimacy in marriage makes women look older than they actually are,” she stated.
Mama Ereko further emphasized that she has embraced independence and no longer feels the need for a man in her life.
“I have become my own man, and I don’t see the necessity of having a partner. In fact, I don’t even remember what it feels like to be intimate with a man,” she added.
