Social media personality and activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkman (VDM), has escalated his campaign against alleged miracle products by staging a protest at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) headquarters.
The demonstration follows VDM’s previous accusations against Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyi, founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministries (CMDM), regarding the sale of purported miracle items. After voicing his concerns on social media and accusing NAFDAC of incompetence for not investigating the products, VDM felt his complaints were being ignored.
Frustrated by the lack of response, VDM organized a group of supporters to march on NAFDAC’s main office in Abuja. He led the protesters in demanding accountability from the agency for its perceived inaction on his claims against Fufeyi’s products.
During the protest, VDM was vocal in expressing his dissatisfaction with NAFDAC’s handling of the situation. He criticized the regulatory body for what he saw as negligence and accused its employees of exploiting companies through excessive product registration fees.
The demonstration reached a climax when senior NAFDAC officials came out to address the protesters, resulting in a tense verbal exchange with VeryDarkman.
This incident highlights the growing tension between social media activists, religious figures, and regulatory bodies in Nigeria, particularly concerning the marketing and sale of unverified “miracle” products.
