Popular activist Verydarkman has shut down claims that singer Davido has financially supported him, clarifying that he has never collected a dime from the music star.
Speaking via his Instagram page, Verydarkman dismissed widespread assumptions that Davido bankrolled his trips and activities, stating that many of the things attributed to the singer were actually funded by him.
He explained that he personally paid for his flights to Lagos and even covered his hotel bills, despite public belief that Davido had handled those expenses.
He said in part:
“Anytime I talk about Davido people go say after all Davido has done for you. Davido flew you to Lagos. Davido has contributed to your NGO. The time I go to Lagos to go see Davido, na me pay my flight ticket. The hotel wey dey say Davido lodge me, na me pay for the hotel. But for entertainment purpose, we just leave am like that…”
