Social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has reacted strongly to comments made by Destiny, a friend of the late Jessica Elena, after she compared Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery to childbirth.
In a video that circulated widely online, Destiny defended her late friend’s decision to undergo cosmetic surgery and criticised people who were mocking or condemning the deceased on social media following her death.
While speaking in the clip, she questioned why people often shame individuals who lose their lives during cosmetic procedures while showing sympathy for other types of deaths.
“People die from giving birth, people die from other sicknesses, so why is it that when someone dies from a cosmetic surgery that we shame them, we bully them, why?”
Her statement quickly sparked debate online and caught the attention of VeryDarkMan, who responded with a strongly worded video.
In his reaction, the outspoken critic argued that there is a clear difference between childbirth and elective cosmetic procedures, stressing that one is a natural process while the other is a personal choice.
According to him, cosmetic enhancements are not compulsory, unlike childbirth in certain life circumstances.
“How do you even compare person when kpai during plastic surgery to person when kpai during child birth? Watin Dey worry this one? IF you feel like watin God do no good as he create you the way he create you and you wake up one morning to go show God the mistake he made and from there you come kpai,” VeryDarkMan said.
Reports earlier indicated that Jessica Elena passed away after allegedly developing complications from a second BBL surgery.
Before VeryDarkMan’s reaction, Destiny had also called for a protest to seek justice and accountability from the medical facility where the cosmetic procedure was reportedly carried out.
Following the critic’s response, his video quickly went viral across social media platforms, with many users sharing their opinions. Several commenters supported his stance, agreeing that cosmetic surgery should not be compared to childbirth.
