Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is wanted by Manchester United, Juventus & Manchester City
Arsenal captain Robin van Persie could be heading for a sensational £25million move to Manchester City, who are leading a three-way battle with Manchester United and Juventus.
The 28-year-old has been the subject of intense media speculation with his Gunners contract set to expire next summer, and coming off the back of his most prolific ever season in the Premier League, interest is at an all-time high in the Dutch striker.
Van Persie is preparing to sit down and discuss his future with Arsene Wenger later this week, and Arsenal fans will be hopeful that their leading marksman commits his long-term future to the Emirates Stadium by signing a new deal.
However, City are prepared to more than treble Van Persie’s current wages to £250,000-a-week, in a bid to lure him to the Etihad Stadium, following in the footsteps of former Gunners stars Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Kolo Toure.
Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is also believed to be monitoring the situation, as he considers an attempt to bring Van Persie to Old Trafford. It’s a move that will also go some way to strengthening Manchester United’s push to win back the Premier League title from the newly crowned champions next season.
Arsenal will offer their talismanic skipper a lucrative £5million signing-on fee, in addition to a club record £130,000-a-week contract to keep him in north London, but face a serious fight to retain his services.
