The roforofo fight between the Arummah Oteh and House of Representatives Committee hearing allegations of flagrant abuse of power by the DG SEC seems to be getting messier.
The elegant look SEC DG is now alleging that the House of Representative Committee asked her for a bribe of N44 million through its Chairman Hernan Hembe.
According to her, N39 million out of the N44 million would have been the cost needed for the House Committee to look the other way and sweep matters under the carpet. The remaining N5 million would have been used to sponsor members of the committee on an all expense paid trip to the Dominican Republic.
The House of Representatives Committee is yet to respond to this allegation.
But the salient here is: Is Arummah trying to divert attention and paint the House members black? or Are the House of Representative Committee members villains?
Only time will tell, for anything goes and can happen in Nigeria’s Theatre of Absurdities.
