An 11-year-old girl named Naomi Sotonye Elijah, reported missing on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has been located safe and sound. The family had raised concerns when the Junior Secondary School 2 (JSS2) student disappeared in the Abuloma area, specifically on Okilo Road.
A Good Samaritan discovered the young girl on Sunday night in an incomplete building at Elimg and promptly brought her to the nearest police station for identification. Confirming this positive development, Barrister Adata Bio-Briggs, the chairperson of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Rivers State chapter, announced that Naomi has been successfully reunited with her family.
The news has brought significant relief to the concerned relatives and well-wishers who had anxiously awaited her safe return. A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the alleged abduction, though details surrounding the circumstances of Naomi’s disappearance and discovery are still emerging.
Nevertheless, the quick response from the Good Samaritan and law enforcement ensured a swift resolution to the distressing incident.
