The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration and the state’s police force are under fire from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State for allegedly stealing the car of its chairman.
According to TVC News, the APC in the state said that government-affiliated police personnel forcibly impounded the car with the license plate GUS 51 AH without a warrant.
The driver of the car allegedly spent many hours being imprisoned without being questioned, according to the state’s opposition party.
This information was released in a news release that Yusuf Idris, the state-based APC spokesperson, signed. The party denounced the act and requested that the car be returned right away with a formal apology.
Idris described how the tragic occurrence occurred in Gusau, the state capital, when the police, who had been discovered to be surreptitiously following the driver, suddenly surrounded the car so they could seize it.
The police, afterwards known as attached officers at the government building, were alerted by the driver.
The statement reads in part:
“They explained that they were asked by the Commissioner of Police in the state to recover the vehicle and take it to the Police Command Headquarters, only for them to divert to the government house after forcing the driver to change the route.”
