TWO police officers and at least one civilian were injured in a shooting in Copenhagen last night.
The attack happened in Christiania with police shutting off the area in an attempt to find the gunman.
A young police officer was shot in the head while another officer was shot in the leg.
One is said to be in “mortal danger”.
The injured civilian is said to foreign-born without any relatives in Denmark.
Witnesses reported hearing up to nine shots during the incident near Fredens Ark – Christiania’s largest building.
The officers were about to arrest the man before he pulled out a gun and shot at them, according to police.
The man was known to police and was involved in drugs.
Swedish police have joined efforts to try and track down the shooter.
A spokesman said “Copenhagen police can’t comment further on the episode – neither the nature of the operation nor about the condition of the officers.”
