On Friday, October 27, 2023, two Nigerian women, Adaeze Jaye, aged 43, and Success Chamika, aged 23, were arrested by the authorities in Rajasthan, India, specifically by the Pushkar police, for being found in possession of illegal substances.

Their apprehension followed a meticulously executed operation by law enforcement officials, during which they confiscated a total of 65 grams of Mephedrone (MD), a potent synthetic drug. Additionally, a significant sum of cash amounting to Rs 65,000 was seized. Moreover, a digital weighing machine was found in their possession, suggesting their potential involvement in drug distribution.

The estimated value of the confiscated narcotics is approximately Rs 6 lakh, as per the police’s assessment. Mephedrone, also known as MD or “Meow Meow,” is renowned for its stimulating and psychoactive characteristics and is classified as a controlled substance in various countries, including India.
