Two persons lost their lives in a boat mishap at Malale village in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State in the week, Alhaji Garba Salihu of the state Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said in Minna.
Salihu, head of the Relief and Rehabilitation Department of SEMA said that the deceased were from Tungan Sule village, adding that the driver of the boat survived the accident.
He said that families of the deceased had been traced to New Bussa and that the agency had taken measures to assist them.
“The state Governor Alhaji Abubakar Bello has directed us to condole with the bereaved families and to immediately make appropriate recommendations on post-disaster recovery,” he said.
