An emotional recording has surfaced of a senior student at Ebonyi State University EBSU, Favour Ugwuka, who allegedly took her own life after facing repeated failures from a lecturer.
Favour tragically ended her life on May 22 due to consistently failing the same course throughout her university education, resulting in an extra year.
In response, her grieving mother brought Favour’s lifeless body to the school and called out the course lecturer, Dr. Enyi.
In a recently uncovered audio recording of Favour Ugwuka, she claimed that the lecturer failed her based on tribalism.
Through tears, Favour expressed her frustration at continuously failing the same course under the same lecturer. She concluded that the failures were unjust and motivated by tribal considerations.
“I am exhausted by this institution. Is it because I am not from Abakaliki or have no family connections here? What is the reason for this? After paying N130K, I have to pay again? Why would Dr. Enyi fail me after attending classes?
“Why should one person be the only one to fail out of numerous lecturers who don’t even know me? From year one until today, how is it possible that you are the only one? I have done my best. I will leave this certificate for you all,” she said before breaking down in tears.
