Tragedy struck yesterday in Ibadan when a moving train belonging to the Nigerian Railway Corporation crushed two people on commercial motorcycle to death.
The accident occurred at Akobo, Ojurin around 10 a.m.
One of the victims has been identified as Abdulahi, a cow dealer at Akinyele cattle market, who came to Akobo to reclaim a debt owed him.
Sympathisers who thronged the scene of the accident wailed endlessly as the shattered body of the victims littered the whole place.
In another equally bad incident, a toddler was also badly mashed by a train in Apata, Ibadan.
The little boy was identified as Quadri.
According to eyewitnesses, the boy and his elder sister, Kabirat 11 were coming from their mother’s shop when the toddler breathed his last breath.
The deceased sister crossed the rail line but the boy kept running along the rail instead of crossing to the other side.
