Hearts hanging from their mouths 50 persons were left gasping for breath and wishing for a miracle when a power outage halted the lift they were travelling in mid flight.
The incident which lasted for 45 minutes occurred yesterday at the international wing of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport.
Yesterday’s incident occurred as a result of the power seizure by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, and the failure of the backup generating sets to function.
Sources said that people with breathing problems such as Asthma were badly affected during the incident.
Power cuts have been rcurring at Nigerian airports in recent times, prompting the National Assembly to admonish the Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah over her inability to fix things
