Chelsea striker Fernando Torres feels in his best form of the past two years.
His late-season charge, helping Blues to Champions League and FA Cup glory, came at the right time with first-choice hitman David Villa crocked.
Now he hopes to shoot Spain to their third consecutive major title following triumphs at Euro 2008 and 2010 World Cup.
Torres, 28, said: “I was left out of the squad and that was tough.
“I started to understand that I wasn’t getting much playing time with my club and that if things carried on that way I wouldn’t be going to Euro 2012.
“Vicente put his faith in me and now I need to show him I am ready.
“When you see yourself missing out and then you are selected you are more excited.
“I have arrived feeling fresh because I haven’t had the same physical burden as the others and I am in good shape.”
