Tonto Dikeh marked Mother’s Day by expressing appreciation to her former husband, Olakunle Churchill, for making her a mother.
The actress shared a video showing her spending time at home with their son, King Andre, as they relaxed together with their pet dog.
Alongside the clip, she wrote: “Churchill, thank you my Gee for making me a mother. One of the most beautiful part of my story and happy mothers day to your amazing mother. God bless you Big Church.”
However, the post triggered mixed reactions online, with some critics claiming it was inappropriate since Churchill is now married to someone else.
Responding to the criticism, Dikeh defended her message and explained that she saw nothing wrong with appreciating the father of her child.
She replied: “Doing too much? For the only man who has put a child in me? The world is truly a sick place and I’m grateful I don’t let your opinions direct me. When e reach your turn, don’t thank them. How wld you understand the meaning of joy/peace that makes no sense? How wld you understand healthy Co-parenting if I don’t show you all..”
