Starting from May 4, 2020 there will be a partial lockdown, as some form of movement will be allowed.
According to President Buhari:
- There will be ban of interstate travel of non essential persons
- There will be mandatory use of face mask in public places
- Restriction of public gathering will remain in place
- There will be an overnight curfew from 8pm to 6am daily
- Total Lockdown shall remain in place till Monday, May 4, 2020
The president however offered his condolences to the families of the deceased.
The president also stated that Nigeria is currently fairing well with the fight against coronavirus, as we have recorded less coronavirus cases than initially expected
He also commended the state government for there swift implementation of state emergency services.
President Buhari stated that the government has signed an MOU to issue hazard allowances to the health care workers

He also expressed his concern on the current deaths in Kano, stating that the FG has deployed more assistance to the Kano state government.
Factories, Marketers, and transporters can continue to function. Also the FG is seeing how it can support farmers so they can continue to farm and harvest this period
The president has also ordered a total lockdown of Kano for the next 2 weeks
